Footer

Overview

Footer items are the layouts you can put at the bottom of the site. Each one is a WordPress item with a title and a block editor. Create them under Footer → Add Footer.

The title is only for you — it appears in the Customizer Footer list. The editor is what visitors see. There is no single page, archive, or search result for a footer.

Starter layout

A new footer opens with:

  • A Section set to Gray
  • A wide Columns block with three empty columns

You can change those block settings or delete the starter and insert other blocks. The template is not locked.

WordPress features

  • Supports: title, editor, revisions
  • Archive: none
  • Public URL: none — the item is excluded from search and has no front-end permalink
  • Featured image / excerpt: not used

Put it on the site

A published footer does nothing until you select it under Appearance → Customize → Dirigible Plugins → Freeform Footer and turn Enable on.

Tips

  • Keep one live footer and use revisions if you need to roll back.
  • You can publish extra footers and switch between them in the Customizer without deleting the unused ones.
  • Build the footer like a small page: Section for the background, columns or other blocks for the content.
