Products

Overview

Products are the items the Products block lists. Each one has a title, a Featured Image, an Excerpt, its own page built in the block editor, and Categories. Create them under Products → Add New Product.

Fields

• Title — the product name, shown on cards and as the page heading
• Featured Image — the card image in listings and on category pages
• Excerpt — the one-line summary under the title on cards
• Editor — the product page. New products start with a layout: featured image, title, a paragraph, and a Buy Now → button. Point the button where customers buy, or replace it with a form
• Categories — the category pages the product appears on, and what the block's Category boxes filter by

Editor basics

• Editor: block editor, with revisions
• Product pages: on by default at /products/product-name/. Turn off Allow Archives in the Customizer if products should have no page of their own
• URL slug: Customizer Slug (default products)
• Site search: products are left out of site search while Allow Archives is on

The sidebar has Page Attributes (parent and order). To put products in a chosen order, turn on Sort by dragging in the Products list and drag them (see the theme's Custom Order).

Tips

• Set a Featured Image on every product. Cards without one show a grey placeholder.
• The starter layout is a suggestion. Delete any of it and build the page the way you want.
