Where to find it

In the WordPress admin, go to Dirigible → Hours. Times are in the site’s timezone from Settings → General.

Where the hours show on the site is under Display on the same page. See Settings.

Weekly hours

Each day has Opens and Closes. Leave a day empty when you’re closed.

  • Lunch break: select Add hours and enter a second set of times (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM, then 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM). A day can have up to four.
  • Closing after midnight: check Closes after midnight (open 6:00 PM, close 2:00 AM). Without it, a closing time before the opening time can’t be saved.
  • Remove clears one set of times. A day with none reads “Closed”.

If anything can’t be saved, nothing is saved: the page lists what to fix and links to each field. Hours on the same day can’t overlap, and hours that close after midnight must end before the next day’s first hours open (Monday 6:00 PM – 2:00 AM and Tuesday from 1:00 AM can’t both be saved).

Holiday and special hours

Use Add special hours for a date when you’re closed or open different hours.

  1. Pick the Date. For several days in a row, also pick Through
  2. Choose Closed, or Open these hours and enter the times
  3. Optionally give it a Name (“Christmas Eve”). Visitors see it in the footer list
  4. Select Save Settings

On those dates the special hours replace the weekly hours everywhere: Hours Today, Next Opening, and the search engine data. The footer lists (Every Day, Open Days) show them underneath the week from 30 days before until they’re over, for example “Christmas Eve, Dec 24: Closed”.

Past dates are removed the next time you save. Two entries can’t share a date: for a closure inside a run of different hours, split the run into separate entries.

Tips

  • Add holiday hours a few weeks ahead. Pages are cached, and a cached page only picks up a new date when it refreshes. If a change must show right away, purge the cache in your host’s dashboard.
  • A date that has already been saved switches on and off by itself, even on cached pages.
  • Search engines get the same hours, so Google can match your Business Profile. A day that is open around the clock (12:00 AM – 12:00 AM with Closes after midnight) is sent as open all day.
  • Export Settings under Dirigible → Import/Export includes these hours, lunch breaks and holiday dates included, so Import Settings on another site brings them along. This needs a current Dirigible theme; with an older one, only each day’s first opening and last closing time travel.
