Salespeople

Overview

Salespeople are the reps the Find a Salesperson block searches. Each one has a page built in the block editor, a Featured Image, and a Zipcodes list in its own sidebar panel. Create them under Salespeople → Add New Salesperson.

The menu and labels follow Singular Name and Plural Name under Salespeople → Settings, so your site may say Representatives or Dealers instead.

Fields

• Title — the rep's name
• Editor — the rep's page, which is also what appears in search results. New reps start with a layout: featured image, name, a paragraph, and a Contact button. Replace the text, and point the button somewhere or swap it for a Gravity Forms form
• Featured Image — the rep's photo in the starter layout
• Zipcodes — every zip code the rep covers, separated by commas or one per line. The Zipcodes panel in the sidebar shows how many there are and the first few; click Edit to change the list. A search matches when the zip typed appears in this list
• Excerpt and Categories — for your own organisation; the search does not use them

Editor basics

• Editor: block editor, with revisions
• Search results: the whole page of each matching rep, stacked under the search box
• Rep pages: at /salespeople/rep-name/ (the Slug setting) when Salesperson Pages is on under Salespeople → Settings
• Site search: reps are left out of site search while Salesperson Pages is on

Tips

• Keep rep pages short: a photo, a few sentences, and a way to get in touch.
• Paste zip codes straight from a spreadsheet column. Commas, spaces, and line breaks all work as separators.
• If several reps cover the same zip, turn on Sort by dragging in the Salespeople list to choose who appears first (see the theme's Custom Order).
