Getting started

Create a card

  1. In the WordPress admin, go to Cards → Add New Card
  2. Set the title (and an optional Display Title if the listing name should differ)
  3. Add an Image, a Description, and optional editor content
  4. Add a Link if the card should go somewhere
  5. Assign Categories if you will filter or use Stratified
  6. Publish

Cards use the classic editor, not the block editor. The listing order on the Cards block is A–Z by title.

List them on a page

  1. Edit a page and insert the Cards block
  2. Choose a Layout: Grid, Directory, Stratified, or Cards
  3. Optionally restrict which categories appear, and turn on Filter or Search
  4. Set image, title, description, and link styles

Layouts

  • Grid — image, title, description, and optional button in columns
  • Directory — the same pieces, centered
  • Stratified — one heading per category, then that category’s cards
  • Cards — a framed tile with a wide image (the Images control is hidden; the image stays a golden rectangle)

Tips

  • Put the one-line summary in Description. Use the editor when Content is set to Content.
  • Stratified only lists cards that have a category. Uncategorized cards are skipped.
  • A freeform page with the Cards block is the public listing. WordPress does not add a /cards/ archive.
  • Turn on Allow Archives under Appearance → Customize → Dirigible Plugins → Cards only if each card needs its own URL.
