Aircraft

Updated

Overview

Aircraft are the types in your fleet: Hawker 750, Citation XLS. Each one has a page at /fleet/category-name/aircraft-name/ built entirely from its fields. The editor shows that page as visitors see it, with an Edit button on each part. The individual planes of that type, by tail number, are listed under Available Aircraft. Create them under Aircraft → Add New.

Fields

Each part of the page has an Edit button that opens its fields. The Aircraft panel in the sidebar lists the same parts.

  • Title — the model name
  • Specs & Summary: Speed, Range (Distance), Range (Time), Passengers — the specs bar at the top of the page and the figures on every card. Numbers only; the units are added
  • Hero Image — the full-width hero on the page and the image on fleet cards
  • Cabin Layout Image — the seating plan in the Baggage section. Portrait images are turned sideways to fit
  • Baggage Info (Text) — the sentence in the Baggage section
  • Large Rollers, Medium Rollers, Duffels, Golf Clubs — how many of each bag fit. Each count becomes a row of that many icons
  • Max Weight — stored, but not shown on the page at the moment
  • Amenities — tick what the cabin has. Each one appears with an icon in the Amenities box
  • Description: Content — the description beside the Amenities box
  • Available Aircraft — one row per plane: Name (the tail number), a Gallery of up to 25 photos, and Partner Aircraft for planes operated by a partner. A row with no name or no photos is left out
  • Example Flights — departure and destination pairs, in the sidebar's Aircraft panel. Stored, but not shown on the page at the moment
  • Summary — the short text beside the specs at the top of the page (the post's Excerpt, in Specs & Summary)
  • Featured Image — in the sidebar. The page and cards use Hero Image instead
  • Aircraft Category — tick one. The page address uses the first ticked category

Editor basics

  • Editor: the block editor shows the aircraft's page. There's no content area: the page is built from the fields, and its layout is fixed.
  • Order: turn on Sort by dragging in the Aircraft list to set the order in every block and category panel (see the theme's Custom Order)

Tips

  • Keep Content to a paragraph or two: it shares a row with the Amenities box.
  • The page is described in Aircraft pages.
