Aircraft pages

Updated

What the page shows

Every aircraft type has a page at /fleet/category-name/aircraft-name/, built from its fields in this order:

  1. Hero — the Hero Image, full width
  2. Specs bar — the aircraft name, the selected tail number, the Excerpt, and three panels: Passengers, Speed, and Range in miles with the hours beside it. Its colour comes from Aircraft Pages under Aircraft → Settings
  3. Content and Amenities — the Content text on the left, and an Amenities box with an icon per ticked amenity on the right
  4. Baggage — the Baggage Info (Text), the Cabin Layout Image, and a row of icons per bag type: as many roller boards, duffels, and golf sets as the counts say
  5. Available Aircraft — a card per tail number on a dark panel: a photo gallery, the tail number, the type name, Partner Aircraft when ticked, and the specs. Thumbnails under each card switch its photo

Editing the page

Open an aircraft and the editor shows its page as visitors see it, with your changes as you make them. Hover a part and select Edit to change it: Hero Image, Specs (the figures and the summary), Description, Amenities, Baggage, and Available Aircraft. The sidebar's Aircraft panel lists the same parts, plus Example Flights, which the page doesn't show. Nothing is saved until you select Save or Update.

Selecting a tail number

The first plane is selected when the page opens: its card comes first and its first photo replaces the hero. Clicking another card selects that plane, moves it to the front, swaps the hero, and adds ?aircraft=TAIL to the address, so a visitor can share a link to one plane. The Aircraft List block links to pages that way.

A plane with no Name or no Gallery photos is skipped.

Tips

  • The hero needs a Hero Image for the moment before a plane's photo loads and for types with no planes listed yet.
  • Portrait Cabin Layout Image files are turned sideways to fit the column. Upload a landscape image when you can.
  • Max Weight and Example Flights are stored with the aircraft but not shown on the page at the moment. Put weight limits in Baggage Info (Text).
  • Pages are cached, so a new tail number or photo can take until the cache refreshes to show. Purge the cache in your host's dashboard if it must show right away.
