How the fleet is organised

  • Aircraft Categories are the size classes: Light Jet, Midsize Jet, Heavy Jet. Each has typical range, speed, and passenger figures.
  • Aircraft are the types in each category: Hawker 750, Citation XLS. Each has its own page with exact specs, amenities, and baggage.
  • Available Aircraft are the individual planes of that type, by tail number, each with a photo gallery. They live inside the aircraft type.

Create the categories

  1. In the WordPress admin, go to Aircraft → Aircraft Categories
  2. Add a category, then click it to edit the Aircraft Category fields: Range (hrs), Speed (mph), Passengers (PAX), an Excerpt, Amenities, a Hero image, and a Featured Image
  3. Update

Categories list A–Z unless you turn on Sort by dragging in their list. The Aircraft Classes, Aircraft Class Strip, and Aircraft Explorer blocks are built from these fields.

Add an aircraft type

  1. Go to Aircraft → Add New
  2. Set the title (the model name) and tick its Aircraft Category
  3. Fill in Speed, Range (Distance), Range (Time), and Passengers
  4. Add the Hero Image and a Cabin Layout Image
  5. Fill in the baggage fields: Baggage Info (Text) plus the counts of Large Rollers, Medium Rollers, Duffels, and Golf Clubs
  6. Tick the Amenities and write the Content: the description on the page
  7. Under Available Aircraft, add a row per plane: its Name (the tail number), a Gallery of up to 25 photos, and whether it is a Partner Aircraft
  8. Write an Excerpt: the short text beside the specs at the top of the page
  9. Publish

List the fleet on a page

Insert one of the blocks:

  • Fleet List — every aircraft type as a card with its hero image and specs
  • Aircraft List — every individual plane by tail number, each linking to its type's page with that plane selected
  • Aircraft Classes — a dark panel of category cards; clicking one opens that category's description, amenities, and aircraft
  • Aircraft Class Strip — the same, with the details opening inside the strip
  • Aircraft Explorer — category tabs above a panel showing the category's hero, figures, amenities, and aircraft

Tips

  • Order aircraft types with Sort by dragging in the Aircraft list (see the theme's Custom Order). Every block and page lists them in that order.
  • Tick one category per aircraft type. Its web address is built from the first one: /fleet/midsize-jet/hawker-750/.
  • A plane without a Gallery is left out of the page and the Aircraft List, so give every tail number at least one photo.
