Artists

Overview

Artists are the people linked from artworks. Each profile has a name, photo, short excerpt, full biography, and birth/death details. Create them under Artists → Add New Artist.

Artists use the classic editor, and revisions are on. There's no built-in artists archive page, so use the Artists or Artist block on a page. Each artist's own page lists the works linked to them.

Fields

• Name — the title field (it says Name in the editor)
• Artist Information
  • Nationality
  • Birth Date / Birth Location
  • Death Date / Death Location
  • Biography Excerpt — one or two sentences for the Artists block grid
  • Photo — portrait used in listings and on the artist's page
• Biography — the longer biography on the artist's page

Editor basics

• Editor: classic (the block editor is off)
• No archive page: use blocks on a page
• URL slug: artist

Tips

• Create artists before artworks so you can link them while editing a work.
