Getting started
Dirigible Fonts serves fonts from your own site, so visitors’ browsers do not have to fetch them from Google Fonts or Adobe. You choose which families to turn on, then tell the theme where to use each one.
Activate a font family
- In the WordPress admin, open Fonts (top-level menu with the paragraph icon).
- Browse or search the directory on the right.
- Click Add to Site on the family you want.
- The family moves to Active Fonts at the top.
Changes save automatically. A short “Changes saved” message appears after each edit.
Use the font on your site
Turning a font on loads its files. It doesn't change headings or body copy until you pick it in the Customizer:
- Go to Appearance → Customize → Styles → Fonts.
- Every family you've turned on appears as a button under Display Font Stack, Body Font Stack and Alternate Font Stack. Click the one you want in each.
- Publish the Customizer.

Alternate path: Theme Setup
During Guided Theme Setup, the Typography step can activate font families and set stacks for you. You can still fine-tune families later under Fonts and Styles → Fonts.
Fonts not in the collection
Dirigible Fonts covers the families listed under Fonts. For Adobe Fonts (Typekit) or another font service, use Appearance → Customize → Scripts & Embeds → Embed Fonts. See Embed Fonts.
Performance toggles
Customize → Settings → General includes Font Preload and Load Italic Early. They affect how quickly active fonts appear, not which fonts are used. See General.
