People Appearance

Overview

These settings choose the default person page layout and which contact details show on every person page. Setting Layout on a person overrides the default for them.

Where to find these settings

  1. In the WordPress admin, go to Appearance → Customize
  2. Open Dirigible People
  3. Select the Appearance sub-panel

Settings

  • Default Layout — Sidebar (contact left, bio right), Minimal (centered), or Placard (card). People with no biography or excerpt get a simpler page.
  • Show Social — social links (default on)
  • Show Phone / Show Text Number (default on) / Show Fax (default off)
  • Show Site / Show Email / Show Address (default on)
  • Show Excerpt — the person's excerpt (default off)
  • Show Categories — the person's categories (default on)

Tips

  • Sidebar suits long faculty biographies. Minimal or Placard suit short leadership intros.
  • Turning a detail off here doesn't affect directory cards. The People block has its own Fields to Display.
