Add a person

  1. In the WordPress admin, go to People → Add New.
  2. Type the person's name in the page's heading (or the title above it). The editor shows the person's page as visitors will see it, with its layout at the top. Until there's a name, the heading is outlined as required.
  3. Select Edit on each part of the page (headshot, job title, short description, contact details, social links) to fill it in. The Person panel in the sidebar has the same Edit buttons, and Change at the top switches the layout.
  4. To change how the top of the page looks, select Edit on the name for its Title Style (H1 to H6), or the round color button at the top right of the page for its Background and Text Color. Choosing a background picks the text color that reads better on it (Light on dark colors), and you can change it after. The same settings are in the sidebar's Style panel. Each layout starts with its own style, so people you've already added look the same until you change them.
  5. Write the full biography in the content area of the page. The short description is the one-liner for directory cards. For your own blocks in the sidebar (a booking button, specialties), select Edit on Sidebar Blocks under the contact details. The Split Sidebar layout has a Sidebar and a Content color.
  6. Assign People Categories when the directory should be filterable.
  7. Publish.

Put people on a page

There's no built-in people archive page. To build a staff directory or team members page, add a block to any page:

  1. Edit the page in the block editor.
  2. Insert People for a filterable directory, or Person for a single featured profile.
  3. Configure layout and category filters in the block sidebar.
  4. Publish the page.

Each person links to their own profile URL (default /people/{post-name}/, configurable under People → Settings).
