People Authorship

Overview

People Authorship lets you assign People posts as authors on content types (posts, pages, articles, events). When enabled, contributor cards and author archive behavior appear on the front end.

Where to find these settings

1. In the WordPress admin, go to Appearance → Customize
2. Open Dirigible People
3. Select the Authorship sub-panel

Settings

• Enable Authorship — turn on people-as-authors (adds an Author field on supported post types)
• Display Authorship — show author cards in post meta on content
• Max Author Columns — columns for author cards (1–3)
• Author Card Name Style — typography preset for author names on cards
• Author Card Hide Excerpt — hide excerpt on author cards
• Author Meta Title — heading above author list (default "Contributors")
• Author Meta Description — optional HTML intro above contributors
• Display on Author Pages — show the person's contributed posts on their single page
• Author Posts Title — heading for contributed posts section
• Author Posts Columns — grid columns for contributed posts
• Author Posts Style — Cards or List layout for contributed posts

Tips

• Enable authorship when blog posts or news articles should credit staff by name with headshots.
• Pair Display on Author Pages with a robust single-person biography for faculty profiles.
