People Authorship
Overview
Authorship lets you pick people from your directory as the authors of posts, pages, articles, and events. Their author cards can appear on that content, and their person page can list everything they wrote.
Where to find these settings
- In the WordPress admin, go to Appearance → Customize
- Open Dirigible People
- Select the Authorship sub-panel
Settings
- Enable Authorship — adds an Author field to posts, pages, articles, and events (default on)
- Display Authorship — show author cards on that content (default off)
- Max Author Columns — author cards per row (1–3)
- Author Card Name Style — text style for names on author cards
- Author Card Hide Excerpt — hide the short bio on author cards
- Author Meta Title — heading above the author cards (default "Contributors")
- Author Meta Description — optional text above the author cards
- Display on Author Pages — list a person's posts on their page (default off)
- Author Posts Title — heading for that list (default "Contributed posts")
- Author Posts Columns — posts per row
- Author Posts Style — Cards or List

- Turn on Display Authorship when news posts should credit staff by name and headshot.
