Archives

Overview

Archives control the look of Collections archive pages (the plugin template for work-collections). They do not change Collection blocks on ordinary pages — those use the block sidebar.

Filters do not have a public archive. Only Collections use this template.

Where to find these settings

  1. In the WordPress admin, go to Appearance → Customize
  2. Open Dirigible Portfolio
  3. Select the Archives sub-panel

Settings

  • Headline Style / Subheadline Style — visual presets for the archive title (h1) and description (h2)
  • Background Color / Reverse Print — band behind the archive header and grid
  • Portfolio Item Style — Card or Seamless tiles
  • Collection Subheadline — fallback line when a collection has no term description
  • Grid Columns — 1–6 items per row (default 3)
  • Excerpt Style — Normal, Small, or Hide
  • Link Style / Link Text — button or text link on each tile; leave Link Text blank to hide the link
  • Archive Images — Uniform crop or Preserve original proportions

Tips

  • Write a collection description when you want a custom subheadline; otherwise visitors see Collection Subheadline.
  • Use Seamless tiles for a tighter photo grid; Cards when excerpts and links should sit below the image.
  • Leave Link Text blank if the whole tile already feels clickable enough.

Headline Style

Visual style for the collection name. The name stays an H1.

  • <h5>Looks like your site's H5 style.
  • <h6>Looks like your site's H6 style.

Subheadline Style

Visual style for the collection description. The line stays an H2.

Background Color

Background color for the archive header and grid band.

Reverse Print

Use light text on a dark archive background.

Portfolio Item Style

How each work appears in the archive grid.

Collection Subheadline

Fallback line under the collection name when the term has no description (default Portfolio Collection).

Grid Columns

Works per row on collection archives (1–6, default 3).
