Usage

The Lyrics block shows a song's lyrics, a paragraph per verse, with the song's Lyrics credit under them.

• One song: one song's lyrics. On a song page it reads that song; elsewhere, pick one under Song.
• One release: every song on a release that has lyrics, in track order, with a list at the top to jump to each. On a release page it reads that release; elsewhere, pick one under Release.
• All songs, by release: a lyrics page. Every published song with lyrics, grouped under its release (newest first), with a list of every song at the top to jump to. A song on several releases appears once, under the newest one that's out. A single whose only song has the same name shows as just the song. Songs that aren't on a published release come last, under "More songs".

A release with a release date still to come stays off the lyrics page until its release day, then joins it by itself, even on a page your host has cached. Its songs that are also on an earlier release stay under that one.

In All songs, by release, each song's title links to its own song page, and songs you add lyrics to join the list on their own. Song pages are what search engines list for "song title lyrics" searches, so the lyrics page sends visitors on to them.

Songs with Show lyrics turned off never appear.

Editing lyrics on the song

New songs start with this block. On the song's own page, click the lyrics (or Add lyrics / Edit lyrics) to edit them in place in a large text box, with Show lyrics and Lyrics credit under it. Leave a blank line between verses. Select Done to see them as visitors will; they save when you update the song.

A song without the block keeps its Lyrics panel in the sidebar, where Edit lyrics on the page adds the block at the top of the song.

Which song or release

With Show set to One song, Song picks it: This song (default) for the song page it's on, or pick a song. Song title above puts the song's title over its lyrics; leave it off on the song's own page, which already has the title.

With Show set to One release, Release picks it: This release (default) for the release page it's on, or pick a release.
