Overview

Everything under Music → Songs lives here. Each song has its own page at /song/song-title/, and can be on several releases. Most songs are made from a release's Track List. See Usage → Songs for the details.

What visitors see

On wider screens, the song page has two columns. On the left: "Song" and its length, the title, your artist name, the releases it's on, listen buttons and the player, then the credits. On the right: the lyrics with their credit line, and the story you write in the page. The video goes under both. Song page layout under Music → Settings can put the lyrics on the left instead, or everything in one column. With no listen links or player of its own, a song uses its newest release's.

A song with no lyrics showing, no credits and no story is kept out of search and isn't linked from track lists until it has one of them.

On the page

A new song starts with a Lyrics block and a paragraph for the story. Click the lyrics (or Add lyrics) to write or paste them in a large box, with a blank line between verses. Show lyrics (on by default) can hide them, for covers. Lyrics credit shows under them. They save when you update the song.

Settings

Song details: Length (like 3:42), ISRC and Credits.

Listen links: links to this song on each service. Leave them empty to use the release's.

Player & video: the same Player and Video settings as a release.

Appears on: the releases the song is on, with its track number on each. Add a song to a release from that release's Track List.

Lyrics: only on songs without the Lyrics block (made before it, or imported). Add lyrics opens a large box to write or paste them, with Show lyrics and Lyrics credit under it. Edit lyrics on the page adds the Lyrics block instead.

In the admin

The Songs list shows which releases each song is on, and in its Lyrics column whether a song has lyrics (Yes, or Hidden when Show lyrics is off).
