Releases

Updated

Usage

The Releases block lists your published releases, newest first by release date: the cover, title, type and month, with Listen and Buy links under each. It's the same list as your Music page at /music/, for any page. Use it with How many set to 4 on the home page, with Types set to Singles for a page of singles, or with Show set to Upcoming to announce what's coming.

Each card links to the release page. Listen goes to the release's link page, and Buy to its store (or to the buy buttons on the release page when it has several). Before a release date, Pre-save takes the place of Listen.

Which releases

The Releases panel picks what's listed:

  • Show: All releases (the default), Out now, or Upcoming (releases with a release date still to come).
  • Types: a tick box for each kind: Albums, EPs, Singles, Live albums and Compilations. Tick the ones to include, or leave them all unticked to show every release.
  • Order: Newest first or Oldest first. Releases with no release date come last either way.
  • How many: 0 shows them all.
  • Leave out the newest release: for a page with a Release block above showing your newest release, so it isn't listed twice.
  • Pick releases: find releases by name and add them, then drag them (or use the arrows) into order. The block shows just those, in that order, and the settings above are set aside until you remove them all. Good for a "Start here" row on the home page.

Releases change on their release day by themselves, even on a page your host has cached: an Out now list gains a release on its day, and an Upcoming list drops it.

Layout

The Layout panel sets how they look. Layout has five choices:

  • Grid: the covers in columns. The default.
  • List: a small cover beside each title, for a long back catalogue or a narrow column.
  • Featured: newest release large, then a grid: your newest release large, with its listen and buy buttons, then the rest in a grid.
  • Shelf: one row that scrolls sideways: your releases in one row, with the next one peeking in at the edge. Visitors swipe it, or use the arrow keys once it's focused.
  • Table: compact rows, no covers: a row per release with its year, title, type and links, for a big catalogue or a press page. On phones each row stacks.

Columns sets how many covers sit side by side on wide screens (2 to 6, default 4); phones show two. For a shelf it's Releases in view: how many show at once before the next one peeks in. A list and a table have neither.

Grouping and details

Group by splits your releases under headings: Type (Albums, EPs, Singles, Live albums, Compilations) or Year (newest year first, or oldest first with Oldest first). Each group gets its own grid, list, shelf or table. Only the kinds or years you have get a heading. The filter buttons are hidden while grouped.

Filter buttons: buttons above the releases that show one kind at a time (All, Albums, EPs…). They only appear when the list has more than one kind.

Type and date: the "Single · May 2026" line under each title. Turn it off for a cleaner grid. In a table it's the Year and Type columns.

Track count: in a table, a column with how many tracks each release has.

Listen and Buy links: the Listen and Buy links under each card. With Featured, it also shows or hides the newest release's buttons.

Mark upcoming releases: an "Out Nov 11" badge on releases that aren't out yet, and the full date ("Single · November 11, 2026") under the title. Both go on release day. It's on for blocks you add, and off for blocks added before it existed.

All music link: a link to your Music page under the list. It doesn't show on the Music page itself.

Text when empty: shown when no release matches, such as "New music soon." under an Upcoming list. Left blank, the block shows nothing.

Tips

  • New releases join the list on their own once they're published: there's no need to edit the page.
  • A home page that works well: a Release block for your newest release, then a Releases block with Leave out the newest release, How many set to 4 and the All music link.
  • To feature just one release with its buttons and player, use the Release block.

Settings

Releases

Show

Out now leaves out releases with a release date still to come; Upcoming shows only those. On a cached page they still change on the release day: Out now gains the release and Upcoming drops it.

  • All releasesdefault
  • Out now
  • Upcoming
Order

Newest or oldest release date first. Releases with no release date come last either way.

  • Oldest first
How many

0 shows every release. Set 4 for a row of your latest on the home page. Set aside while releases are picked.

Leave out the newest release

Leaves out your newest release (the one a Release block set to Newest shows), so a Release block above and this list don't show it twice.

Layout

Layout

Grid shows the covers in columns, and List a small cover beside each title. Featured shows your newest release large, with its listen and buy buttons, then the rest in a grid. Shelf puts your releases in one row that scrolls sideways, with the next one peeking in. Table is a compact row per release (year, title, type and links) that stacks on phones.
