Getting started
Add a release
A release is an album, EP, single, live album or compilation. Go to Music → Add Release. The new release opens looking like its page: a Release block with the cover, title and buttons, a Track List for the songs, and a paragraph for the story.
Fill it in from its links
- In the sidebar's Fill in from a link panel, paste a link to the release on Apple Music, Bandcamp or Spotify. Have more than one? Select Add another link and paste the others too (up to five): each service fills in what it knows best
- Select Look it up
- Check what was found. Untick anything you don't want, and open the suggested links on other services to make sure they're the same release
- Select Use this. The details, cover art, tracks and links fill in. Nothing changes before you select it
No link handy? Fill it in yourself on the page, as below. See Releases for every part in detail.
Adding a whole back catalogue? Music → Import Discography lists every release the band has on Apple Music from one artist link and adds the ones you pick, each filled in the same way. See Import a whole discography.
Edit it on the page
Click any part of the Release block to change it, as visitors will see it:
- Cover: click it to pick or upload the cover art.
- The line above the title ("Album · 2024"): the Type and Release date, and under More details the label, catalogue number and UPC.
- Title: type in the heading.
- Listen buttons: click one to change its link, move or remove it, or select + Add a link. Paste the release's page on each service it's on.
- Buy buttons: + Add a buy link for your store, Bandcamp or record shops, each with a Format, Price and Note.
- Coming out soon? Set the Release date, then select + Add a pre-save link. Until that day, visitors see "Out" with the date and a Pre-save button. On the day, the listen buttons replace them on their own.
Write about the release in the paragraph under the track list: how it was made, press quotes, photos.
The rest is in the sidebar's Release panel: Link page, Player & video, Credits and More details, each with an Edit button.
Add the songs and their lyrics
Each song in the track list is its own page, and a song can sit on more than one release (a single, then the album).
- In the Track List, select Add a song and type a title: pick a song you already have, or create a new one. Or select Paste a track list to add them all at once, one per line
- Drag songs by their number to put them in order. Click a title or length to change it
- Open a song's row with the arrow at the end of it, and write or paste its lyrics with a blank line between verses
Song changes save to the song straight away. The track order saves when you save the release. New songs stay drafts until their release is published, so lyrics don't go live early.
Each song's own page has a Lyrics block too: select Open song in the ⋮ menu on its row, then click the lyrics to edit them. See Songs.
Publish and share
Publish the release. Its songs publish with it, and its own page and link page go live.
In the sidebar's Release panel, the Link page line shows the link page address, like yoursite.com/listen/release-name/. Select Edit, then Copy. Use it in your Instagram or TikTok bio, on posters, in QR codes and in ads. See Link pages.
Your Music page
When you publish your first release, a page called Music is made for you at yoursite.com/music/, with a Releases block listing every release. It's an ordinary page under Pages: add your own words, photos or a sign-up form around the releases, and add it to your menu. See Discography.
- Add a Release block to your home page to feature your newest release.
- Set your artist name and page addresses under Music → Settings. See Settings.
