Doc Types

Overview

Doc Types describe what the file is. Create terms under Documentation → Doc Types. Assign them on each doc.

The first type on a doc is also used in that doc’s permalink. Hub filter URLs use the type segment.

• Hierarchical: yes
• Public archive: yes — with the hub on, those archives redirect to the hub
• Admin column: yes

Tips

• Add types before you publish a large set of docs, so permalinks stay stable.
• Explorer can show a type filter, or start from selected types via Documentation Source.
