Lead gating
Lead gating is a site-wide form in front of public documentation downloads. It is not the same as Access → Selected users. Member-only docs skip the lead form.
You need Gravity Forms. Create the form first, then point the Customizer at its ID.
Turn it on
- Go to Appearance → Customize → Dirigible Documentation → Gating
- Turn on Enable Gating
- Enter the Gravity Form ID
- Optionally fill Headline, Subeadline, and Body (HTML Allowed)
- Publish
Visitors see the form over the preview on a public doc. The download control reads Locked until they complete the form. After they submit, the gate stays cleared in their browser until you reset it.
Set Gravity Form ID to 0 if you do not want a form. Leave Enable Gating off unless the form ID is set — otherwise public docs stay locked with nothing to fill out.
Bypass
Turn on Enable Gate Bypass if visitors may dismiss the form without submitting. Bypass Text is the button label (default No thanks). That button only appears when bypass is on. Dismissing hides the gate for this visit; submitting the form is what remembers them.
Reset
When the form or requirements change, open Dirigible → Theme Tools and use Reset Documentation Gating. Everyone who had already submitted will need to fill the form again. See Features → Reset Gating.
Tips
- Gating copy is site-wide. It does not change per doc.
- Selected users docs never show this form. Use Member access for login-only files.
- HTML in Body (HTML Allowed) is for short extra instructions under the headline.
