Usage

Event Countdown displays a live days/hours/minutes/seconds countdown to one event's Starts date. Place it on a landing page, hero, or promotional band to build urgency before a show, launch, or registration deadline.

Unlike the Events block (which lists many posts), Countdown promotes a single event you select in the sidebar.

Settings

  • Justification — Left, Center, or Right alignment
  • Display — Stacked (numbers above labels) or Inline (side by side)
  • Number Display Style — Customizer preset for countdown digits (default h1)
  • Label Display Style — Customizer preset for unit labels (default p)
  • Event — pick the events post to count down to (required)

Front-end behavior

The ds-event-countdown view script updates the display on an interval until the start time passes.

Block width

Event Countdown supports Wide (default) and Full alignment.

Tips

  • Select an event with a future Starts date — expired events count down to zero.
  • Use Inline in narrow hero bands; Stacked reads better at large display sizes.
  • Link visitors to the full Single Event page for tickets and details below the countdown.
