Events Single Template
Overview
Events Single Template settings control the default layout and visible fields on individual event pages. They apply to the Single Event block unless overridden per event.
Settings
- Default Single Template — Sidebar (default), Default (full-width), Simple, Billboard, or Article
- Show Phone — display phone number (default on)
- Show Website — display website link (default on)
- Show Email — display email address (default on)
- Show Address — display venue address (default on)
- Show Categories — display event categories (default off)
- Show GCal Link — Google Calendar add link (default off)
- Show Excerpt — allow excerpt in Single Event block header (default on)
Tips
- Set Default Single Template once in Customizer, then override Layout on individual events when needed.
- Enable Show Categories for event hubs that emphasize browsing by topic.
Settings
Events Single Template
Default Single Event block layout for new events: Sidebar, Default, Simple, Billboard, or Article. Editors can override per event in the block settings.
Show the event Phone field on single event pages (default on). Turn off for events where phone contact is not appropriate.
Show the event Website link on single event pages (default on). Turn off when the only relevant URL is the ticket link in the body.
Show the event Email Address field on single event pages (default on). Turn off when contact should go through a form instead.
Show venue and address on single event pages (default on). Turn off for online-only events or when location is in the body content.
Show Event Categories on single event pages (default off). Useful when categories are part of the editorial identity (e.g. "Community", "Fundraiser").
Show an Add to Google Calendar link on single event pages (default off). Enable when visitors frequently save dates to their calendars.
Default for the Single Event block’s Show Excerpt toggle on new events (default on). Existing blocks keep their own setting — the block toggle is authoritative.
