Create an event

  1. In the WordPress admin, go to Events → Add New.
  2. Add a title (venue + bill names work well for concerts).
  3. In the Document sidebar Event Information panel, set Starts (required). Add Ends when the event spans multiple days or hours matter for filtering.
  4. Fill City and State, or link a Location when Dirigible Locations is active.
  5. Put door time, lineup, or ticket notes in the Excerpt. Listing blocks show it on each card.
  6. Build the single-event page inside the Single Event block (photos, embeds, supporting copy).
  7. Assign Event Categories if you filter listings by category.
  8. Publish.

For every sidebar field, see Post Types → Events. For recurring series or WooCommerce tickets, see the other Usage guides below.

Add events to a page

There's no built-in events archive page. To show an event calendar or upcoming-events list, add a block to any page:

  1. Edit the page in the block editor.
  2. Insert Events for a card or list of upcoming events, Events Calendar for a calendar layout, or Event Countdown for a single countdown.
  3. Configure the block sidebar (how many to show, category filters, layout).
  4. Publish the page.

Each event links to its own URL (default /events/{post-name}/, configurable under Customize → Dirigible Events → Events Global Settings).

Category pages: each Event Category has its own page listing that category's upcoming events, then its past events, newest first. Past events show 12 at a time, with Older events and Newer events links to page through the rest.
