Recurring events
Use recurring events when one template should spawn many dated occurrences — weekly classes, monthly meetups, or a concert residency.
On the parent event (the one you create first):
- Set Starts to the first occurrence date and time.
- Turn on Recurring Event.
- Choose Repeat — Daily, Weekly, Bi-Weekly, Monthly, or Yearly.
- Set Repeat Ends — the last date the series should generate occurrences.
Dirigible creates separate occurrence posts for each date in the series. Each occurrence gets its own URL and appears in listings like any other event. Occurrence posts show a note that they belong to a recurring series; they do not expose the recurring toggle.
Editing an occurrence: Changing an occurrence detaches it from the parent. A warning appears the first time you edit; detached occurrences keep their own dates and content and no longer inherit parent updates. Use Re-Attach Event in the editor status area to discard your edits and sync back from the parent (this cannot be undone).
Tips for recurring series:
- Edit shared copy, venue, and featured image on the parent — unsold, non-detached occurrences stay in sync.
- Sold or customized occurrences are protected when you change the repeat schedule; they are not deleted silently.
