Event Categories

Overview

Event Categories is a hierarchical taxonomy attached to the Events post type. Categories appear in the event editor sidebar and can filter Events and Events Calendar blocks.

Properties

• Hierarchical: yes (parent/child categories like WordPress post categories)
• REST API: enabled
• Admin column: visible on the Events list table
• Block filtering: used by the Category control on Events and Events Calendar blocks

Tips

• Create top-level categories for broad groupings (e.g. "Community", "Classes") and child categories for specifics.
• Leave block category filters empty to show events from all categories.
