Documents

Overview

Documents are the nested pages under Manifest → Documents. Each one uses a locked Document block. Create them under Manifest → Add New Document.

Use Page Attributes to set the parent. The front end follows that tree: sidebar, trail, child list, and previous/next links. See Usage → Documents for the workflow.

WordPress features

  • Supports: title, editor, featured image, excerpt, revisions, page attributes
  • Archive: none
  • Public URL: yes — Slug in Customizer (default documents), without the site’s front prefix
  • Editor: locked Document block with starter paragraphs inside (you can add blocks; you cannot remove the Document wrapper)
  • Featured Video: MP4 file in the side panel; List child cards prefer it over the featured image

The featured image and featured video do not print in the document body.

Tips

  • Name the top-level document the way it should read as the sidebar heading for that branch (Top Level Parent scope).
  • Keep excerpts short if you turn on List Children.
  • Refresh permalinks after you change Slug.
