Snippets

Overview

Snippets live under Manifest → Snippets. Each one uses a locked Snippet Page block. Place published snippets on pages with Snippet or Snippet Collection.

Snippets are hierarchical in the admin (Page Attributes). The front end does not add a document-style sidebar, trail, or previous/next links for that tree.

WordPress features

  • Supports: title, editor, featured image, excerpt, revisions, page attributes
  • Archive: none
  • Public URL: yes — /snippets/{name}/
  • Editor: locked Snippet Page block (you can add blocks; you cannot remove the Snippet Page wrapper)
  • Featured Video: MP4 file in the side panel; the snippet page prefers it over the featured image (the image can still be the video poster)

Tips

  • Put the visitor-facing name in the title and a one-line summary in the excerpt.
  • Prefer embedding on a normal page over sending people to /snippets/ unless you want a standalone article.
  • A custom title, excerpt, or image on the Snippet block overrides this item for that placement only.
