Use the block editor to build pages on Dirigible: add a title, layout blocks, text, and links, then publish.

Create a page

  1. Log in to the WordPress admin.
  2. Go to Pages → Add New.
  3. Enter a page title at the top (for example, About).

The title feeds the admin list, menus, and (often) the URL slug. You still need a visible heading or hero on the page itself for visitors — see Including page titles.

Clear starter content (if present)

Some starter layouts include sample buttons, headings, or a background. Select those blocks and delete them if you want a blank canvas, or edit them in place.

Edit a hero or first section

If the page starts with a Hero (or similar) block:

  1. Click the hero on the canvas or select it in List View.
  2. Replace the headline and supporting text.
  3. Update the background image if the layout uses one — prepare images first with Formatting images.

Add blocks

  1. Click the + inserter, or type / on an empty line to search.
  2. Add a Heading, then a Paragraph, and write your copy.
  3. Add a Buttons block when you need a call to action.
  4. Set the button label, then use the link control to point at an internal page or external URL.

Inline links

In a paragraph, highlight text and use the link icon in the toolbar to add a URL. Edit or remove the link the same way.

Preview and publish

  1. Use Preview to check the front end.
  2. When the page looks right, click Publish (or Update on an existing page).

Tips

  • Prefer Dirigible layout blocks (sections, columns, heroes) for polished pages — browse the Blocks docs for patterns that fit your content.
  • Keep one clear primary action per section.
  • Use List View when the page gets nested and hard to click.
