Set up a newsletter signup in the footer

To add a newsletter signup to your site footer, choose Mailchimp, a Gravity Form, or a signup page under Appearance → Customize → Settings → Newsletters, then turn on Show Newsletter for the footer. This is separate from the pop-up signup. For that, see Add a site-wide pop-up.

Choose how people sign up

  1. Go to Appearance → Customize → Settings → Newsletters.
  2. Set Newsletter to Mailchimp, Gravity Form, or Page.
  3. Fill in the fields for that choice:
Choice Fields
Mailchimp URL, User, List
Gravity Form Gravity Form ID
Page Newsletter Page, Button Text, Button Style (Understated, Inline, Button, or Hollow)
  1. Click Publish.

Choose Page if you'd rather send people to a dedicated signup page than show a form in the footer.

Show it in the footer

  1. Go to Appearance → Customize → Footer & Contact → Appearance.
  2. Turn on Show Newsletter.
  3. Optionally fill in Newsletter Headline and Newsletter Description (HTML Allowed).
  4. Click Publish.

Tips

  • To send Gravity Form signups to a Mailchimp audience, see Connect Gravity Forms to Mailchimp.
  • The pop-up and the footer signup can use the same Gravity Form, but each is turned on separately.
  • A freeform footer doesn't include this signup. Add a form block to it instead.
