See which plugins are installed
When something on your site stops working, or support asks what your site runs, the first question is usually which plugins are installed and which are turned on.
Open the plugins list
- From the front of your site, while logged in, hover over your site name in the black bar at the top and click Dashboard.
- In the dashboard menu, click Plugins (or Plugins → Installed Plugins).
Each row shows the plugin's name, a short description, and its Version. An active plugin has a highlighted row and a Deactivate link under its name. An inactive one shows Activate instead.
Only administrators see the Plugins menu. If it's missing, ask whoever manages your site. See Manage WordPress users and roles.
Filter and search
The links above the list narrow it down:
- Active and Inactive show plugins that are turned on or off.
- Update Available shows plugins with a newer version waiting.
- Must-Use and Drop-ins, when they appear, are plugins your host or developer added. They're always on and can't be turned off here.
To find one plugin, type its name in the search box at the top right.
Copy the full list for support
- Go to Tools → Site Health and open the Info tab.
- Click Copy site info to clipboard.
- Paste it into your email or support request.
The copied text lists your active and inactive plugins with their version numbers, plus your theme and WordPress version. Open the Active Plugins section on the same tab to read the list yourself.
Before you change anything
Don't deactivate or delete plugins to "clean up" without checking what each one does. Some, like your forms or SEO plugin, hold content and settings that pages depend on. Deactivating keeps a plugin's settings; deleting can remove them.
If your site runs on Dirigible
- Dirigible's own plugins have names starting with Dirigible, like Dirigible Blocks and Dirigible SEO. The theme is listed separately under Appearance → Themes.
- To see which Dirigible plugins have an active license, go to Dirigible → Licenses. See Add license keys for your Dirigible plugins.
