Create documentation and control access

Each Documentation entry is a downloadable Doc. Access is either Public (can use lead gating) or Selected users (login-only, never gated). Hub and gating setup live in Set up the documentation hub and lead gating.

Create a Doc

  1. Go to Documentation → Add Doc.
  2. Enter a title.
  3. Upload the File visitors will download.
  4. Optionally add a YouTube Video, Excerpt, and Body.
  5. Assign Doc Types, Doc Products, and Doc Brands so the Explorer can filter.
  6. Under Access, leave Public (default) or choose Selected users.
  7. If Selected users, pick Allowed Users.
  8. Publish.

Do not rely on gating to protect member-only files. Use Selected users for those.

Tips

  • Keep file names clear; the download label often reflects the Doc title more than the raw filename.
  • After publishing Public docs, spot-check the hub with gating on and off.
