Edit SEO for a page

Dirigible SEO adds an SEO panel in the block editor and a sitewide title separator in the Customizer. Requires the Dirigible SEO plugin.

Edit a page or post

  1. Open the page or post in the block editor.
  2. Open the SEO panel in the document sidebar.
  3. Set SEO Title — use the Title, separator, and Site tokens when helpful, or type a custom title.
  4. Write an SEO Description for the search snippet.
  5. Check the live Search Engine Preview under the fields.
  6. Turn on Private Page (Do Not Index) only when search engines should skip this URL.
  7. Optionally enable Override canonical URL and set Canonical URL.
  8. Update or publish the page.

Set the title separator

  1. Go to Appearance → Customize → SEO → Options.
  2. Choose the Title Separator character used between title parts.
  3. Click Publish.

Migrating from Yoast (optional)

If you are leaving Yoast SEO:

  1. Go to Dirigible → Tools.
  2. Under Migrate Yoast Data, click Migrate.

Run this once after Dirigible SEO is active. Review important pages afterward.

Tips

  • Keep titles unique and readable; descriptions should summarize the page in one or two sentences.
  • Prefer meaningful alt text on images alongside page SEO.
  • Do not noindex pages you want in Google unless you have a clear reason.
