Create portfolio works and place a listing

Dirigible Portfolio stores Works and lists them with the Collection block (and related layout blocks). Requires the Dirigible Portfolio plugin.

Create a work

  1. Go to Portfolio → Add Work.
  2. Enter a title, set a featured image, and write an excerpt.
  3. Optionally set listing Title and Subtitle in the sidebar.
  4. Assign Collections (and Filters when you want filter pills on the listing).
  5. Publish.

Place a listing on a page

  1. Edit the page and insert Collection (primary listing). Other options include Logo Collection, Logo Grid Collection, Packery Collection, and Portfolio Slider.
  2. In the sidebar, choose Layout — List, Overlay, Cards, or Grid.
  3. Select which Collections to show.
  4. Turn on Allow Filtering when visitors should narrow results, then set Filters.
  5. Toggle Show Title, Show Subtitle, Show Excerpt, and Show Link as needed.
  6. When Layout is Overlay, set Padding.
  7. Publish the page.

Optional Customizer setup

Under Appearance → Customize → Dirigible Portfolio → Setup, you can change Slug, labels, Collection Slug, and Portfolio Page. You do not need these to list works on a page with a block.

Tips

  • Use Filters only when you will enable Allow Filtering on the block — unused filter terms clutter the admin.
  • Keep featured images consistent — see Formatting images.
  • For a single featured project, prefer a focused Collection selection or a dedicated page rather than mixing every work into one dense grid.
