Run Theme Setup on a new site
Theme Setup is the guided wizard for a fresh Dirigible site. It walks you through licenses, recommended plugins, brand colors and fonts, logo, social links, and optional starter pages so you are not hunting every panel by hand.
Open Theme Setup
- Log in to the WordPress admin.
- Go to Appearance → Theme Setup.
- Click Start (or Continue) and move through each step with Next. Use Skip when a step does not apply.
Re-running the wizard may show a Warning step first — read it, then Continue Anyway if you intend to overwrite earlier choices.
What each step covers

| Welcome | Overview of the setup flow. |
| Licenses | Enter Dirigible license keys so themes and plugins can update. |
| Install | Install recommended Dirigible plugins (Install / Proceed as prompted). |
| AI | Optional AI / OpenRouter settings when the site uses those tools. |
| Details | Site details used across the theme. |
| Colors | Brand palette (same roles as Styles → Palette). |
| Typography | Activate fonts and set stacks (same idea as Styles → Fonts). |
| Logo | Upload the masthead logo. |
| Socials | Profile links used in the header, footer, and structured data. |
| Content | Optional starter pages — Home, About, Contact, Blog, Showcase, T&C, Privacy Policy, and Menus. |
| Ready | Finish setup and head into the Customizer or editor. |
After you finish
- Refine colors and type in Choosing colors and fonts and the Dirigible font guide if you need more control.
- Place or replace the header logo in Adding a logo and header.
- Add tracking only after the site structure is stable — see Adding tracking codes.
Tips
- Complete Licenses and Install before styling so plugins that register Customizer panels are available.
- Starter pages are a starting point — edit or delete any you do not need.
- You can re-open Theme Setup later; treat a re-run carefully if the live site already has content.
