Setting up a site pop-up
Dirigible includes one site-wide pop-up for announcements and newsletter sign-ups. You control timing and content in Appearance → Customize → Pop-up.
Turn it on
- Go to Appearance → Customize → Pop-up → Settings.
- Toggle Enable on.
- Set Position — Center (modal) or Corner (smaller notice).
- Set Delay — seconds before the pop-up appears (0–10; default 5).
- Set Reshow After (Days) — how long until a returning visitor sees it again. Use 0 to reshow only when you change the pop-up content.
Write the content
Open Pop-up → Content:
- Enter a Headline and Subeadline (that is the live Customizer label).
- Optionally add an Image and Body (HTML Allowed) copy.
- Back in Settings, set Headline Style and Subheadline Style so the type matches your brand scale.
Add a form or a link
Gravity Form in the pop-up
- Create a form in Gravity Forms (email field + submit is typical).
- Note the form’s ID.
- In Content, set Gravity Form ID to that number. Use 0 to disable the form.
Link to a page instead
Set Link Page and Link Text. Both must be set for the button to show.
Limit where it shows
In Settings:
- Limit to Page — when on, the pop-up only appears on the Page you select.
- Always Show on Blog — still show on the blog and single posts even when limited elsewhere.
Test and publish
- Preview in a private window so delay and reshow rules start fresh.
- Check home, blog, and any limited page.
- Click Publish in the Customizer.
If the pop-up collects email and you also run analytics, pair it with the GDPR cookie banner when consent is required.
Tips
- Site-wide newsletter provider settings live under Appearance → Customize → Settings → Newsletters — separate from the pop-up form ID.
- Keep delay short enough that visitors see the offer, but not so short it interrupts reading.
- Prefer one clear action: form submit or a single link.
