Pop-up and Newsletter

Dirigible includes a site-wide pop-up for announcements and newsletter sign-ups. Connect your email provider once, then control timing, content, and where the pop-up appears.

Turn on the pop-up

  1. Go to Appearance → Customize → Pop-up → Settings.
  2. Toggle Enable on.
  3. Set Position — Center for a modal, Corner for a smaller notice.
  4. Set Delay (seconds before the pop-up appears).
  5. Set Reshow After (Days) — how long to wait before a returning visitor sees it again. Use 0 to only reshow when you change the pop-up content.

Write pop-up content

Open Content:

  1. Enter a Headline and Subheadline.
  2. Add optional Image and Body copy (HTML allowed in the body field).
  3. Choose Headline Style and Subheadline Style under Settings so type matches your brand scale.

Add a sign-up form

You have two common paths:

Gravity Form in the pop-up

  1. Create a newsletter form in Gravity Forms (email field + submit).
  2. Note the form ID.
  3. In Content, set Gravity Form ID to that number.

Form styling: Styles → Forms and Site Settings → Gravity Forms.

Link to a dedicated page

Set Link Page when the pop-up should drive visitors to a full sign-up page instead of embedding a form.

Limit where the pop-up shows

In Settings:

  • Limit to Page — show only on one selected page (useful for a landing-page offer).
  • Always Show on Blog — still show on blog and single post pages even when limited elsewhere.

Test in a private browser window so you see the delay and reshow rules fresh.

Connect a newsletter provider

Site-wide newsletter settings live under Site Settings → Newsletters:

  1. Open Newsletters.
  2. Choose your provider (Mailchimp and other supported services).
  3. Enter the connection details your provider supplies (list URL, user ID, and similar fields shown in the panel).

These settings power footer newsletter areas and compatible form integrations — not only the pop-up.

Footer newsletter

To show a newsletter strip in the default footer:

  1. Open Footer & Contact and enable Show Newsletter under contact/appearance options.
  2. Set Newsletter Headline and Newsletter Description.
  3. Confirm Newsletters is connected.

Pair with privacy settings

If the pop-up collects email addresses, visitors in regulated regions may need a cookie or tracking notice elsewhere on the site. When you also run analytics, configure the GDPR Banner under Scripts & Embeds.
