Inline Links

Usage

Open Appearance → Customize → Styles → Inline Links to style hyperlinks embedded in body text — inside paragraphs, lists, tables, captions, and similar prose. Set Color (default Primary), hover Color and Background On Hover, underline Color and Underline Size, and matching hover underline controls.

Weight and Style apply to linked text and bold links inside paragraphs. Button and nav links are excluded — they use Styles → Buttons and Styles → Navigation.

When to use it

  • After Styles → Palette, when body-copy links are too faint or clash with Text.
  • Building an underline-on-hover pattern — default Underline Size is 0 with a 2px hover underline.
  • When long-form pages need readable links without looking like standalone CTAs.

Tips

  • Background On Hover can highlight links like markers — keep hover Color at White or Text for contrast on filled hovers.
  • Heading links inside h1–h6 use heading colors, not these inline settings.
  • Standalone "Read more" and card footer links use Styles → Links (is-style-understated), not inline prose rules.
  • Underline Size at 0 with only a hover underline is the default — increase resting underline width for always-underlined editorial styles.
