Appearance
Usage
Open Appearance → Customize → Footer & Contact → Appearance to shape the default theme footer. Pick a Layout, set Background and Reverse Print, then choose which columns appear — navigation, newsletter signup, site search, and additional information blocks.
Headline and body text use Headline Style and Text Size so column titles match your type scale. Social icons pick up Icon Size and optional brand Social Colors.
When to use it
- Replacing placeholder footer copy with your real column structure before launch.
- Turning on Show Newsletter or Show Search when those tools are configured elsewhere in the Customizer.
- Dark footers on light pages (or the reverse) using Reverse Print instead of one-off CSS.
Tips
- Show Nav lists your footer menu assignment from Appearance → Menus — create that menu first.
- Turn on Show Address here when you want the contact block visible; enter the details under Contact Information.
- Newsletter and search blocks need matching setup under Settings → Newsletters and your search plugin; hide them until those are ready.
- Additional Information is a freeform HTML area for disclaimers or partner logos — keep it short.
- Footer layout is separate from the Dirigible Footer plugin freeform page; this panel controls the built-in theme footer.
