Status Column

Updated

What it helps you do

See at a glance where each page, post or event stands, without opening it. Every list in wp-admin has one Status column, right after the title, with small labels:

  • Public (green): published, and nothing keeps it out of search.
  • Draft, Pending review, Scheduled (with its date), Private and Password protected.
  • Not in site search · set by you: you checked Hide from site search on it.
  • Not in site search · Thank-you page (or 404 page, Blog layout, Sample content): the theme keeps it out of Google and site search on its own. See Utility Pages Out of Search.
  • Not on Google and Points elsewhere (with Dirigible SEO): No Index is on, or its canonical URL sends search engines to another page.
  • Front page, Posts page, Privacy policy and Sticky, and labels from plugins, which used to follow the title ("— Draft").
  • Plugin labels such as an event's Weekly or Occurrence.

Hover a label to see what it means. Some labels link to the setting behind them: the 404 page label opens that setting in the Customizer, and a thank-you page label opens your forms.

See everything that's hidden

Click Hidden above the list (next to All, Published and Drafts). It lists every item kept out of your site's search or Google on purpose, by you, by the theme or by Dirigible SEO. It only appears when something is hidden.

Things to know

  • The column shows on pages, posts and every other searchable list, such as events and people. WooCommerce products and media keep their own columns.
  • Hide from site search and Show in site search work from the list itself with Quick Edit or Bulk actions.
