Header 3

Usage

Open Appearance β†’ Customize β†’ Styles β†’ Header 3 to define the mid-scale heading preset. It styles <h3> tags and the H3 visual style (is-style-h3) used on card titles, sidebar headings, boxed Hero copy, and the site name beside your logo.

Adjust Font, Size, Mobile Size, Weight, Style, Transform, Tracking, Line Height, and Color to bridge section titles (H2) and label-style headings (H4–H6).

When to use it

  • When card grids, team lists, or pricing tables need a consistent title size.
  • After Header 2 feels too large for repeated subsection labels.
  • When the masthead site name should match card title typography β€” it uses this preset by default.

Tips

  • H3 is the workhorse card and widget title β€” small Size shifts are visible across archives and related-content blocks.
  • Still on the Display font role by default; switch Font to Body or Alternate only when you want card titles to diverge from main headings.
  • Pair with Styles β†’ Paragraphs so subcopy beneath H3 titles has enough size contrast.
  • Like other header presets, is-style-h3 on a p or h4 gives H3 looks without changing the document outline level.
