Usage

Open Appearance → Customize → Styles → Tags to style filter buttons and category pills. Set the Font, Size, Weight, Style, Transform, Tracking, and Width, then Horizontal Padding, Vertical Padding, and Border Radius for the pill shape.

Color and Background set the normal look. Color When Active and Background When Active (default White on Primary) apply to the selected filter, for example in a portfolio or blog archive.

Tags keep their text color wherever it's easy to read on their background (a contrast of 4.5:1 or more): Color on Background, and on the selected tag Color When Active on Background When Active. Where it wouldn't be, for example white on a yellow or light orange, the text turns black or white, whichever reads better. On hover a tag darkens as usual, unless its text would get hard to read; then it keeps its color.

When to use it

• Portfolio, publication, or blog blocks with category filters or tag lists.
• Matching filter pills to your buttons. Compare Border Radius with Styles → Buttons.
• After palette changes, to keep unselected tags (Gray background) distinct from the selected one.

Tips

• This styles the pill design wherever it appears, not only WordPress post tags.
• Background defaults to Gray with Text-colored labels. The selected tag switches to your Primary color.
• For uppercase category labels above titles, use Header 4 through Header 6 instead of pills.
• Raise Border Radius for fully rounded pills; 0 gives square corners.
• Width shows when this style's font comes in several widths and is set to Full axis in Dirigible Fonts. Uncheck Default and drag the slider for a condensed (narrower) or expanded (wider) cut of the font; the slider covers only the widths the font has. Leave Default checked to keep the width the text has now.
