Header 2

Usage

Open Appearance β†’ Customize β†’ Styles β†’ Header 2 to style your primary section-heading preset. Settings apply to <h2> elements and to blocks using the H2 visual style (is-style-h2) β€” a common choice for Hero headlines and major section titles.

Configure Font, Size, Mobile Size, Weight, Style, Transform, Tracking, Line Height, and Color to sit one step below Header 1 on your type scale.

When to use it

  • Tuning section rhythm after Header 1 β€” most interior pages lead with H2-sized blocks.
  • When Heroes use an H2 visual on the main title (a frequent Theme Setup pattern).
  • Aligning blog, archive, and block section headers so they share one weight and size.

Tips

  • Blocks often default to H2 for the main headline β€” changes here show up across Heroes, Media Callouts, and Columns quickly.
  • Keep Size clearly smaller than Header 1 so the hierarchy reads at a glance.
  • Transform and Tracking at defaults work for display faces; uppercase H2s are rare β€” consider Header 4 instead for label-like treatments.
  • Visual style and semantic tag can differ β€” check the block outline if SEO heading structure matters for a specific page.
