Post Cards

Usage

Open Appearance → Customize → Blog & Posts → Post Cards to design how each post preview looks on archive and index pages. Toggle Show Image, Show Date, Show Categories, Show Tags, and Show Link, set Excerpt Length, then pick Image Style and Headline Style presets.

Link Text and Link Style control the “Read more” treatment when links are visible.

When to use it

• Launching a blog and deciding how much metadata belongs on the grid versus the single post.
• Photo-heavy magazines that want large golden-ratio crops without dates on every card.
• Minimal newsrooms that keep Excerpt Length at the minimum and let titles carry the story.

Tips

• Image Style affects every archive card — pick one crop that works for mixed aspect ratios.
• Turn categories off on dense grids to reduce visual noise; keep them on for editorial sites.
• Short Excerpt Length keeps card heights even; longer lengths work better in Settings → Layout list or magazine modes.
• Card settings apply to index views; single-post options live under Post Pages.
