Gravity Forms

Usage

Open Appearance → Customize → Settings → Gravity Forms when the Gravity Forms plugin is active. Set Form Submission Limit to cap how many times one visitor can submit any form per hour (by IP). Turn on Debug Hidden Fields only while troubleshooting — it reveals hidden fields to logged-in administrators in the form markup.

These settings apply across all Gravity Forms on the site, not per form.

When to use it

• Contact or lead forms that attract spam — lower the hourly limit before adding CAPTCHA or other filters.
• High-traffic campaigns where you want a safety net against automated bursts.
• Debugging conditional or honeypot fields that are not behaving as expected in the editor preview.

Tips

• The limit message visitors see is fixed: they are asked to try again in an hour.
• Debug Hidden Fields is for admins only — turn it off on production sites once you finish testing.
• Pop-up, footer newsletter, and page forms all share this limit when Gravity Forms handles submissions.
• If the panel settings seem to have no effect, confirm Gravity Forms is installed and activated.
