Animations

Usage

Open Appearance β†’ Customize β†’ Settings β†’ Animations to decide how much motion visitors see. Load Animations adds gentle entrance effects when the page first paints. Scroll Animations loads extra CSS and JavaScript so blocks can fade or slide in as visitors scroll.

Both default to on. Turn either off if you want a calmer experience or need to trim front-end scripts.

When to use it

  • Polishing a marketing homepage where hero and section blocks should feel alive on first visit.
  • Turning off Scroll Animations on content-heavy sites where motion feels distracting or adds weight.
  • Disabling Load Animations when you notice a flash or stagger on slow connections β€” the theme skips those effects when the toggle is off.

Tips

  • Load Animations only affects first paint; Scroll Animations is separate and loads its own deferred assets.
  • Scroll effects respect reduced-motion preferences where the browser supports them.
  • If motion looks wrong after a deploy, publish Customizer changes again so cached CSS picks up the body class toggle.
