Header 4

Usage

Open Appearance → Customize → Styles → Header 4 to set the small-cap heading preset. By default it uses the Alternate font, uppercase Transform, and a heavier Weight — suited to eyebrows, meta labels, and overlines above larger titles.

Settings apply to <h4> elements and the H4 visual style (is-style-h4) wherever blocks and templates reference them.

When to use it

• Building a label/eyebrow layer above H2 or H3 section titles.
• When you want category lines, dates, or "Featured" tags to read as headings without competing with display sizes.
• After switching Styles → Fonts → Alternate Font Stack, to rebalance size and tracking for the new face.

Tips

• Default Size is compact (14px) with positive Tracking — typical for uppercase label typography.
• H4 through H6 share a similar scale by default; differentiate them with Transform, Weight, or Color if you need distinct roles.
• Blocks that offer H4 in Headline Style apply these rules to whatever HTML tag the block saves.
