Featured Post Display

Usage

Open Appearance β†’ Customize β†’ Blog & Posts β†’ Featured Post Display to lead the main blog index with your newest posts. Choose a Display layout (Wide, Full, Hero, and others), then tune Style, Headlines, Link Text, and whether the Date shows.

The section appears on page one of your posts index only β€” not on category or tag archives, and not on paginated pages. Sticky posts show a pin badge in the feature area.

When to use it

  • News sites leading with the latest breaking story.
  • Content marketing hubs that rotate a pillar guide above older posts.
  • Seasonal announcements that should dominate the blog landing page.

Tips

  • Match Headlines to your hero typography so the feature feels intentional, not like a second H1 fight.
  • Hide the date on evergreen guides; show it on time-sensitive news.
  • If the feature competes with a page-level Hero block, pick one lead story location so visitors are not overwhelmed.
  • Test Link Text on mobile β€” short verbs (β€œRead now”) fit narrow widths better than full titles.
