Build a freeform footer

A freeform footer is a block-built layout that replaces the standard theme footer when enabled. Requires the Dirigible Footer plugin. For the simpler theme footer (address, socials, layout toggles), use Set up the footer and contact info instead.

Create a footer

  1. Go to Footer → Add Footer.
  2. Build the layout with blocks (new footers often start with a Section and Columns).
  3. Click Publish.

A freeform footer has no public URL of its own — visitors only see it when it is enabled as the site footer.

Turn it on

  1. Go to Appearance → Customize → Dirigible Plugins → Freeform Footer.
  2. Toggle Enable on.
  3. Choose the published footer in the Footer dropdown.
  4. Click Publish.

The Footer select lists published footers only. Create and publish the footer post before it appears in that list.

Tips

  • Keep the freeform layout short enough that it does not push content off small screens.
  • Contact and social details in the freeform design are whatever you place in blocks — they do not auto-pull from Footer & Contact unless you rebuild that content yourself.
  • Dirigible Open Hours in the theme footer do not appear inside a freeform footer — add hours as blocks if you need them there.
