Quote Group
Stack multiple quotes with shared styling for testimonial pages.
Usage
Quote Group stacks multiple testimonials in one block, with shared styling applied to every quote at once. Each child quote matches the standalone Quote block in layout — optional quote mark, colored left border, citation with headshot, name, and job title — but you set appearance once on the parent instead of repeating settings per quote.
Use it for testimonial walls, client feedback lists, or any page section with several quotes that should look consistent.
Parent and child blocks
The Quote Group parent holds one or more Quote children (ds/quote-group-card). The block inserts with three quote children by default. Add or remove quotes with the block inserter.
Select Quote Group for layout and group-wide styling. Select an individual Quote child to edit that quote's text, citation, and headshot.
Shared styling (parent)
These settings apply to every quote in the group via block context:
- Style — Border (default) adds a colored vertical accent bar, or None for a clean layout
- Text Align — Left, Center, or Right
- Text Size — Normal through 4XL (
text-xs-em…text-4xl-em); responsive sizing is handled automatically - Space Between — vertical gap between quotes in
rem(0–8) - Border Color — palette color for the left accent bar when Style is Border
- Name Style — Customizer typography preset for citation names (default appearance matches
h4) - Headshot Size — diameter of every citation headshot in
em(0–10) - Show Quote Mark — decorative quote icon above each quote's text
- Icon Size — 1–40px
- Quote Style — Rounded, Blocky, Message, or Comment icon shapes
Changing any parent setting updates all children immediately.
Individual quotes (child)
Select a Quote child to configure:
- Quote body — paragraph and list inner blocks (default template includes one paragraph)
- Name — citation name, edited inline
- Job Title — supporting line below the name (renders as
<small>) - Headshot — optional circular photo. Click the placeholder in the editor or use Choose Headshot in the sidebar. Set Image Focal Point when a photo is selected.
Without a headshot, name and title still render beneath the quote.
Compared to Quote
The standalone Quote block is the same visual component for a single testimonial. Quote Group is the better choice when you need several quotes with identical styling — especially text size, alignment, border, and headshot size — without opening each block's sidebar separately.
Quote Group does not include the standalone Quote block's Padding control; use Space Between to separate stacked quotes instead.
Block width
Quote Group supports Wide and Full alignment from the block toolbar and defaults to Wide width.
Tips
- Set Text Size, Style, and Border Color on the parent first, then fill in individual quote content.
- Use Space Between to tighten or loosen a long testimonial list without adding extra Section blocks.
- For a single featured testimonial, use the standalone Quote block instead.
- Pair a Quote Group inside a Section with a background band for editorial testimonial pages.
Settings
Quote Group Settings
Border adds a colored vertical accent bar on the left of each quote. None removes the bar for a minimal layout.
Alignment of quote text, quote mark, and citation row — left, center, or right — applied to every child.
Quote body size from Normal through 4XL for all children. Sizes scale responsively on mobile.
Vertical gap between stacked quotes in rem units (0–8).
Color of the left accent bar when Style is set to Border.
Customizer typography preset for every citation name. Default appearance matches h4.
Diameter of every circular citation headshot in em units (0–10).
Shows a decorative quote mark icon above each quote's text.
Size of the quote mark icon in pixels (1–40).
Shape of the quote mark — Rounded, Blocky, Message, or Comment.
