Socials
Display your global social accounts anywhere on the site.
Usage
Socials displays your site's global social media accounts as a row of linked icons. Unlike the core WordPress Social Icons block, you do not add URLs per block — accounts are managed once in the Customizer under Social Media, and every Socials block on the site reads from those settings.
Add or remove a platform in the Customizer and every Socials block updates automatically. Only platforms with a handle or URL entered appear in the icon row.
Supported platforms include Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, Pinterest, Bluesky, Mastodon, Discord, GitHub, Threads, email, phone, and others defined in your theme.
Appearance
Sidebar controls under Icons:
- Size — icon scale from 1–25 (default 5). Values map to the theme's icon size classes, not pixels.
- Use Brand Colors — when enabled, each icon sits on its platform's official brand color with a white (or black, for Snapchat) glyph
- Color — when brand colors are off, a single palette color for all icons (white, gray, dark, muted, primary, secondary, accent, or variant)
Layout
- Justify — toolbar buttons align the icon row left (Start), center (Center), or right (End)
- Block width — Wide or Full from the block toolbar
Editing accounts
Social links are not edited in the block sidebar. Go to Appearance → Customize → Social Media to add handles or URLs. Leave a field blank to hide that platform everywhere — in the footer, navigation, and Socials blocks.
The block preview in the editor uses ServerSideRender, so it reflects your current Customizer values.
Tips
- Use Use Brand Colors for recognizable platform identity; use a single Color for a minimal row that matches your page palette.
- Place Socials in a Hero, Section, or contact area when you want accounts outside the header/footer.
- Pair with Link in Bio when you need styled link cards in addition to standard social icons.
- Increase Size on dark hero backgrounds; use white or brand colors for contrast.
